He made a sensational debut for Northamptonshire. Chahal, who plays for the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League, bowled an impressive spell of 5/14 in his 10 overs to skittle out Kent for just 82 runs.
The disciplined bowling by Yuzvendra Chahal earned him five wickets: two LBWs (Jaydn Denly and Beyers Swanepoel), a stumping, Ekansh Singh, and two catches, Grant Stewart and Nathan Gilchrist.
Yuzvendra Chahal was not named in any of the four squads for the opening round of the Duleep Trophy, which will kickstart the domestic red-ball cricket season in India.
Beginning September 5, all first-round matches of the Duleep Trophy will be played in Anantapur and Bengaluru. Shubman Gill, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Shreyas Iyer will lead Teams A, B, C, and D respectively in the red-ball tournament.
